LA Times feature: Welcome to Portugal
One of the reasons I’m so passionate about fighting hustle culture and toxic productivity is because I’ve overworked myself to the point of burnout more than once. In fact, a huge factor in my choice to become a resident of Portugal is because I wanted to escape the constant pressure in Los Angeles to work, produce, and perform.
Moving to Portugal has had an amazingly positive impact on my
life in more ways than I can say.
Recently, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Jaweed Kaleem from the LA Times to share my story of moving to Portugal from California and the life I’ve built here. (Full disclosure, as a girl who called LA home for a decade, I completely geeked out over being featured in a publication I’ve read and referenced countless times!)
Portugal is becoming increasingly popular with Americans for many reasons. It’s got the great weather and beach culture of Santa Monica, incredible wine country that rivals the likes of Napa Valley, and there’s a buzzing startup culture that echoes what Silicon Valley used to be 20 years ago. American salaries go further here, and it’s way more safe.
I truly feel like I’ve found my version of heaven here and I was so grateful to share a bit about why. To learn more about my story of moving to Portugal, check out the article here:
